Section A - Everything But The PBS Stations
Upcoming premiere broadcasts:
Saturday 9 August:

Sunday 10 August:
Prime New Zealand 7:30PM - The Poison Sky, pt 2

ABC1 Australia 8:15PM - DWC - Sins Of The Father (10 minutes)

Tuesday 16 September:
SciFi NL Netherlands 8:30PM CET 3-00 The Runaway Bride
SciFi NL Netherlands 9:30PM CET 3-01 Smith and Jones
Friday 19 September:
CBC 9PM (9:30PM Newfoundland) - 4th Series Premiere!
SciFi Channel UK http://www.scifi.co.uk has a 3 day Bank Holiday weekend marathon of classic Doctor Who (23 to 25 August) coming up, which implies a new home for Classic Doctor Who in the UK as autumn approaches.
SciFi Channel Netherlands http://www.scifi-tv.nl has obtained the first run rights to Series 3 of Doctor Who for the Netherlands. A 2 episode premiere with the 1965 Peter Cushing Dalek movie begin airing on the channel on 16 September, with many same week repeats. 1 episode per week thereafter. Series 2 premiered on Nederland 2.
British military forces get a Sarah Jane Adventures marathon on BFBS
1 and BFBS Navy. The 10 half hour episodes of Series 1 air over a 2
week period, 1 per weekday. See the BFBS listing for the specific
times, then convert for your timezone. If you have BFBS Navy but not
BFBS 1, this is the time you are getting these Sarah Jane Adventures.
Does anybody know the status of the channel Jimmy in Italy? There are
some reports that the channel may be ceasing to exist in September,
which would be before they finish the current premiere run of Doctor
Who (Series 3) and Torchwood (Series 2). Is the channel going away?
If so, where are the programmes going?
Looks like Doctor Who, Sarah Jane Adventures, and Torchwood were all airing on Croatian station HRT http://www.hrt.hr recently. Just found out about it, but cannot find broadcast times.
Finally got to look at The Minute Doctor Who Podcast (I'm not
retyping that long link - it's in the podcast section). Rather
entertaining, short (episodes are under 5 minutes long), and well-
produced. The most recent 4 episodes come together to form a roughly
15 minute review of Doctor Who Series 4. Of note - this is a VIDEO
podcast. All the other podcasts currently listed are typically audio
shows.
One of the Doctor Who podcasts has flipped from a free format to a
subscription model - and you can find out which one in the podcast
section. It is one of the better ones - but it remains to be seen if
people will purchase a Doctor Who podcast in 2008.
Torchwood schedule information is included in the Torchwood This Week
column http://groups.yahoo.com/group/torchwood . Of note - the radio
episode Lost Souls will air on BBC Radio 4 on 10 September.
For press releases on Doctor Who, keep an eye on the BBC Press Office

your provider may offer this service. Based on the paucity of
information on the episodes airing, I guess they want you to get the
service before you know what you will be seeing.

Jim Iaccino and Kenn Gold look at the latest SciFi broadcasts in the
US, with emphasis on fitting in Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica,
and - right now - The Middleman. Everything is based on US premiere
dates rather than UK. Approximately 90 minutes per episode. Show airs
live with a text chat and can be downloaded later.
Current episode - August 3 (90 minutes). New Battlestar Galactica
developments, the Middleman M&Ms fan campaign, and Doctor Who -
Journey's End.
Next episode - Sunday 10 August 9PM PDT/Midnight EDT/Monday 5AM BST
(90 minutes). Doctor Who's latest US run has ended, and the Olympics
is sapping original programming. But Primeval finally premiered on
BBC America, the Torchwood radio episode is coming, the Middleman is
still running, and the new details on a Battlestar Galactica TV movie
should give them enough to chew over.
Tin Dog Podcast http://www.tin-dog.co.uk
Weekly UK based podcast looking at the latest in Doctor Who,
Torchwood, or Sarah Jane Adventures. New episodes ever 2 weeks or so.
Current episode - #67 - The first 4 episodes of Trial Of A Time Lord
(The Mysterious Planet) are explored, in the runup to the DVD
release. At the time this episode came out, The Trial Of A Time Lord
was due for UK DVD release in August 2008 and the next 3 podcasts
would also cover aspects of this season long saga. Trial has now been
postponed till October, a point that will presumably be mentioned in
Tin Dog #68.

West, Dave AC, Colin, and other Doctor Who fans liked the live Doctor
Who: Podshocks so much that they wanted to keep talking afterwards.
The resulting show covers Doctor Who, anything else sci-fi related,
and can go wildly off in all directions.
August 3 episode - Journey's End aired on SciFi. How did people react
to SciFi airing an episode complete? Thoughts on the state of Who and
the perils of telephones. Special guest Louis Trapani of Doctor Who:
Podshock. A cell phone attempts suicide live on the air. A computer
software glitch leads to the creation of the Wes/Ian (listen to the
episode for details). The Longest CIA podcast to date, coming in just
under 2 hours long.
Sunday 2PM EDT (11AM PDT, 7PM BST) - Doctor Who actors in other shows.
17 August 2PM EDT (11AM PDT, 7PM BST) - CIA really knows where its
towel is.
24 August 2PM EDT (11AM PDT, 7PM BST) - CIA discovers Anime!
Radio Free Skaro http://radiofreeskaro.wordpress.com
The 3 Canadians get together on Sundays for about an hour or two or
more to discuss the latest in Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Sarah Jane
in a fairly amusing manner. Temporarily doing commentary on classic
Who stories courtesy of their Randomiser.
Current episode - #94 - Commentary on Robot. Longest Radio Free Skaro
ever - 2 hours, 39 minutes, 4 seconds which also makes it the **2ND**
longest Doctor Who podcast ever. The running time versus the actual
running time of Robot betrays that there was virtually an hour of
regular news and reviews before the commentary started. And
apparently somebody's DVD player betrayed the team ... The name of
the story being reviewed in episode 95 was revealed, but it slipped
my mind.
Sunday or Monday - #95 - Commentary on another classic Who story, as
the Sarah Jane Adventures sneak slowly up on the 3 Canadians.
A Podcast Of Impossible Things
http://podcastofimpossiblethings.blogspot.com
Cardiff-based Doctor Who fans get together to discuss the latest
Doctor Who and do a full length commentary on new Doctor Who episodes.
Current episode - 1.01 Rose (posted 6 August). To tide the time
till new Who, the Cardiff gang go back to 2005 to look at the
Eccleston episodes. Have not managed to hear this episode yet, but
looking forward to it.
A Whovian's Quest http://www.whovianquest.com

Cliff And Stephanie's Doctor Who Fan Podcast http://www.gspn.tv
Current episode - 11 - Review of Partners In Crime (August 1, 2008)
Cliff and Stephanie Ravenscraft review Doctor Who episodes on a
weekly basis. Start of new installments as they review Series 4,
skipping Voyage Of The Damned for now and focusing on the
Doctor/Donna episodes.
GSPN.tv is a network of podcasts on TV shows, daily life, religion,
and other issues that interest the 3 Ravenscrafts. Doctor Who Fan
Podcast becomes one of the pay programs in the network starting with
episode 12. The existing paying audience ranked Doctor Who dead last
in their interests (annoying the hosts who want to do the show but
are living off the revenue from their podcasts). If you subscribe to
their podcasts in order to hear the new Doctor Who episodes, be sure
to alert them that you are doing this.

commentaries on The Invasion Of Time and The Deadly Assassin are
available.
TV Talk with Shaun O'Mac http://blogtalkradio.com/shaunomacradio
Weeknights 6 to 8PM EDT (3 to 5PM PDT) [Friday 7PM EDT/4PM PDT]
Shaun O'Mac (of the Jericho "nuts" campaign) hosts a daily 2 hour
show covering all things TV. Doctor Who is usually discussed in the
2nd hour of the Friday show with Two Doctors co-host Kenn Gold.
Listen and chat live through the website with archives appearing
right after the show finishes.
8 August - no Who related chat due to Kenn's absence and a giveaway
involving Jericho.
Not The Mind Probe http://notthemindprobe.com
